Venice June 16 2013

I was a day ahead of myself, its hard to keep track of the days. we left Porec on Saturday the 15th.
We had ordered a taxi 7.30 .to take us to the boat which left 8,00 am 8.40 no taxi showed up. mac went in to ask, yes the taxi was coming, 8.45 no taxi, I went in and got mad at the concierge who then called a cab and we made it onto the boat at the last minute. there is no good way to get out of porec.
got to venice boat dock, lots of fare wells from all the people we had sometimes shared rides with ,
a long walk to get a bus or taxi to the hotel, but lucked out and caught a vaporetto to piazzala roma
where we could take the bus to our hotel from hell. But this time I asked for a bigger room and its ok for the two nights. We took a break, mac took a nap and then took the bus back to piazzala roma
caught the vaporetto Nr. 1 and cruised to San Marco, hordes and hordes of tourists. Decided to sit down at Caffe Florian. There is a 6.00 euro cover charge per person but we did it anyway I had a bellini and mac had aqua minerale and listened to the music, best part in venice is riding around in the vaporettos on the grand canal

This morning the 16th got up early, back to venice had only time to tour the doge's palace,walking across the bridge of sighs and down into the depressing prison.
Decided to leave the hordes behind and take the waterbus (vaporetto to Murano famous for venecian glass. It was a nice ride in the lagoon with all types of boats going back an forth . looked at beautiful glass, but too expensive. took vaporetto to Burano famous for Lace. It's a little fishing village with brightly painted houses. had lunch calamari , spritz apergo,and

but the hordes of tourist were there also and the boats back were packed, besides it was very hot.We enjoyed the bike trip even so in Croatia bike trails were mostly non existent .We enjoyed Venice but we are looking forward to get to Munich tomorrow.
