We were riding down the Isar bike trail and came to a crossing. We were over the Isar Canal. Below the bridge was the makings of a log raft. It seem that in olden times they would lash logs together and then put cargo on the raft and raft down to the Danube. Dismantle the rafts, and saw up the logs for lumber just like on the Mississippi and other rivers in the States. Now they put the rafts together and get a bunch of people, a band and some beer and take off to Munich about 25ks away, then take apart the rafts and haul them back upstream and reassemble them. So a couple of miles past the launch pt. we come to another bridge and 2 loaded rafts are going under it. We get a video of it. A few miles farther downstream there are 5 rafts tied to the bank and above a dam that has a chute in the middle. The riders had been having lunch at a beergarden a block away. They loaded back on the raft, the band started playing and they cast off. The oarsmen set the raft up to go thru the chute. As they went thru there was a bunch of yelling. It must be very safe as it seem there weren't any life vests. That was the last we saw of that boat but we heard lots of yelling from others on the way past Grunwald. The first video is the last to be viewed. I still haven't figured how to get things in the right place
