beautiful summer day here today. Mac still fighting a cold.

Magdalena und I went on a bike ride this afternoon. the river has come down and the bike trails are open again. we rode along the river to the village of Frauenroth, were we visited some friends. They live on a beautiful property. The house used to be a Foresters house, which was sold by the state.
we rode through some wild flower meadows, along a little stream back to the castle Aschach were we had some ice café. There are so many beautiful bike path around here, one doesn't even have to leave the area. 
Since Heini (Magdalena's husband) is in the hospital we took her to dinner at mac's favorite restaurant "Klaushof" . Mac had Hirschbraten mit Kloess( roast elk with potatoe dumplings) and we had Spargel, which is in season right now and served every were (white Aspergus) I love it
We are leaving by train for Munich tomorrow morning early, then on to Venice Saturday.
Still have to packing to do.
