On Sunday the 9th of June we had breakfast at the hotel and talked with the Norway ladies and decided to follow them towards the ferry at the island about 10k away.  The trip was not easy and we had to backtrack more then once.  I left the trailblazing to others and it felt good.  I would get my chance later in the day.   The was one section on a "bike path" where the trail was about 3 feet wide with the bay on one side and a guardrail on the other with the traffic driving like Italians.  We all made it to the ferry on got on for a ride to Lido.  When we got to Lido we got off that ferry and rode the bikes about a kilo to another terminal.  Lido is different then Venice and the pace is a lot slower.  Supposedly some nice beaches here somewhere.  We caught the next ferry to Punta Sapiano for 15 min. ride across the bay.  After we got to riding for about an hour we stopped at a roadside cafĂ© and had lunch along a canal.  After lunch we rode along various canals until we reached the beach along the Adriatic.  It was cloudy and windy a we rode along the beach and there were 1000s of people heading home in front of a thunder storm.  I couldn't believe how many lounge chairs with umbrellas there were.  It seemed like 100s of 1000s.  I guess some business put them out for rental.  We finally reached the Olympus hotel just ahead of a rain shower.  The hotel is a lot better then the one in Mestre.  At least we can turn around in the room without moving a piece of luggage.
