Today we are riding up the Sinn river towards Bad Bruckenau and then to Bad Kissingen.  We get  to Sinn the is an old water castle that we have been to before.  The trees have grown up and there's not a lot visible anymore and the town hasn't the money to restore it.  The castle sits in a pond and would be nice if it were renovated.
The trail to Bruckenau was tougher then thought.  There was a 6k section of almost single track and with mud and hills to boot.
Bad Bruckenau is another spa town although the spa is about 4k below the main town.  The spa was started in 1747 when a bishop from Fulda built a fountain there and a successor started building hotels.  Lola Montez(google her name) hung around here as the girlfriend of Ludwig I.
As usual we went to the town plaza for some ice cream.  Since it was early J says we have to continue on although I would have stayed there for the night.
We found the trail markers and took off an promptly had to get off our bikes and push up a steep long hill.  We are now in the Rhon, a  group a low mountains located where the states of  Hesse, Bavaria and Thuringia come together.  That led to a downhill then a climb and so on until I said we have to stop for something to drink.  Luck would have it there was an open gesthaus that was having some function and we were allowed to buy a beer.
The bartender said just over the next hill and then it's all downhill from there.  But with J's intimate knowledge of the area the 33k route took 40k.  We got to her sisters just as a violent thunderstorm hit.  We were still 5k from our house but we got a ride with her sister after a nice meal of bratwurst, salad and beer.                                                                                                                                            I Hope that you watchers(if there any)are looking up some these names and places I'm using.  Wikipedia does a better job with history and usually the pictures are better.
