We left Donauworth and the first 25k was rolling countryside with some good hills.  It was muggy after the previous nights rain.  By the time we got to Neuburg we needed a beer.  We had the beer at the gate to the Neuburg palace and while I had a 2nd J went up into the castle and kloister.
Neuburg palace was built in the early 1500s by Pfalzgraf Ottheinrich.  It was the first Protestant church built in germany.  The pictures can't do Justice to the place as it's so huge so I suggest you go on google earth and maybe there will be some better pictures.
A couple of the pictures show examples of the Sgraffito Technique for decorating the outsides of  buildings.
After the beer we headed down a 6 mile straight road to the Palaces hunting castle at Grunau.  As with a lot of the castles and churches it was under renovation.  It's still private and some of it has been rented out as apts.  We continued to the little town of Grossmehring and got a room at the Delegera Gesthaus.  We had to eat somewhere else so the only place in town was a Greek restaurant.  They were just finishing up roasting a lamb so both ordered lamb and it was good.
