I got the town wrong where we stopped yesterday.  It was Munderkingen.  Johanna decided to take the Alt. route to Ulm which goes thru the town of Blaubeuron.  It is famous for the spring, the Blautof, which comes out with a bluish tint.   It also has a very old Monastery.  It was a short day of riding because she wanted to go to the museum of primitive history.  There are a lot of caves in the vicinity that have yielded lots of stone age artifacts.  We visited the spring which is the source of the Blau River and has legend of the water nymph.  Go to  www.http://wikipedia.org/wiki/blautof  and read all about it.
The Monastery was founded by the benedictine order around 1100.   the Catholic monks were expelled in 1535.  Then the Protestants moved in and today it is an evangelical semenary.  We didn't get to Monk's bathhouse so it will be done before we leave in the morning.
