The first 20 k or so was damp and cool along farm rds and dirt one lane trails thru the woods. Then the sun came out and we started getting close to Schweinfurt and we were on paths along side roads and train tracks. After we left the Schweinfurt area things quited down. We stopped at a small church in Etlaben that had some nice murals on the walls. On to Werneck and another sommer-residence of the prince bishops of Wurzburg. As usual the grounds are beautiful. We stopped and had gellato in the plaza across the street. On to Werneck where we got a room which was next to a street where a lot of big rigs come the town to avoid paying toll on the autobahn. Pretty Noisy. But they had a nice biergarten and a dachshund that went to all the tables looking for pets and food. |
