Thursday August 13th 2015

This morning we packed up and rode to the Munich Train Station.. Of course it was packed. School is out in Bavaria. After half  hour of waiting I had the ticket and we just made it to the train, which of course was also packed. It emptied out when we passed popular vacation spots like Chiemsee ect.
We arrived in Salzburg around noon, but did not bother to ride into town, since we had been there before.
We found the bike trail right away and were on our way along the river Salzach. We are on the Alpe-Adria trail which shares some km with the Tauern trail. The ride was a bit up and a bit down through shady wooded sections and green meadows with the high mountains in view. We made to Hallein by 3.00 and passed a bike shop were Mac had a new back tube and tire but on his bike. Soon we were happily riding along to our goal Golling about 20km away. Ona little uphill suddenly Mac's rear wheel came off the axle. There was some cussing and trying to fix it but somehow the brake was locked and we could not do anything about it.More cussing which is rare for Mac it was decided that I would ride back to the bike shop to get help. The man was very nice and we started  to get Mac in the car. However some bikers helped him to get the brake loose and he rode down to the shop also.
Good thing we both now  have phones to keep track of one another. It was the bike shops fault for not getting the things on the real wheel tight enough. This time they made sure everything was good and soon we were on our way again and arrived Golling and our Hotel at 6.00 p.m. It's all an adventure
Tomorrow we will .ride over P.ass Lueg into the Gasteiner Thal
leaving Salzburg
