When we got the the train station in Trier we found out the train was leaving in 5 minutes and we had to hustle to get on it.  59 Euros for a Quer durchs land ticket for 2 people and bikes from Trier to Freiburg.   We have take the regional trains and that involves 4 changes.  But now we know about elevators which make it easier to get from platform to platform and all the cars we had didn't have multiple steps up to the car.  We left Trier at 10AM and arrived in Freiburg at 5PM.   At the tourist office we got maps and instruction on how to get to the village of Teningen where we would spend the night at Eveline Palmers parents house.  After an hour plus of biking we got to the house where Hilda and Eberhard had dinner waiting for us.  After breakfast on Oct. 7th we  rode the bikes back to Freiburg and took a walking tour of the city centre.  We had Black Forest Cake at a cafe by the Muenster, went to the bahnhof and bought tickets to Konstanz for the next day and then rode back to Teningen.   On Oct 8th we woke up to a cold rainy morning but only had a short distance to ride to the train station.  We rode the train thru the Black Forest to Konstanz.  In Konstanz we found a room at the Hotel Scheffelhof, just a few minutes from the city centre.  It was too cold and rainy to do much walking so we had dinner at an Italian Bistro and back to the Hotel where we could catch up on email and do some blogging.
