After buying Birkenstock sandels at Obernburg we headed on towards Frankfurt.  Stopped in Aschaffenburg to see the magnificient huge "Red Castle" built entirely from red sandstone.  Went back to the bike trail and after a few Ks passed some openings in a sandstone wall.  After exploring the gates to our surprise we found a beautiful garden and the former Benedictine Monestary Seligenstadt with it's sandstone basilica.  Had a big lunch at the Kloister cafe.  Then continued on the 35 ks to Frankfurt where we were to meet Johanna's niece Nicola at her flat and spend the night.  That night we went out to a traditional Apple wine garden restaurant.  J had a glass of applewine but most of the people were getting it in 1 litre pitchers.  Now we are in the State of Hessen where people speak a different dialect then Johanna.
