After a nice breakfast at Bertrams we leave Klotten in the morning fog. We stop for a bit at Cochem
were we meet a tour group from Australia. We check out the town bit and soon be on the trail .
Today we are just riding along not knowing were we will end .

We ride along the river passing villages and vineyards, the ruin of Kloister Stuben from the 11thcentury, We stop and visit the ancient little village of Beilstein, we stop at Zell were the famous wine Zeller Schwarze Katz comes from. we find the fountain on the market place with the black cat perched above awinebarrel and have our picture taken. The story goes that three wine merchants came from Aachen to by wine, they were in the cellar for a long time drinking until the wife of vineyard owner came down to check on them. with her was the black house cat, when the men wanted to yet to

try the wine from yet another barrel, the cat jumped up onto it and hissed at them. and would not let them near it So the wine is called Zeller schwarze Katz.
It sooned got to be late afternoon and we found lodging in Briedel at the Gasthaus Musikalischer Wirt, were Mac andI stayed once before.
