Nice weather prevails and we leave Bacherach.On the way we pass the Lorelei Rock way above the river. Lorelei was supposed to be a siren whose beautiful songs made the boats man run onto the dangerous rocks in the river. We really wanted to hike up there, but can't do everything.
We see many more castles above the river but make our way to Koblenz to Deutsches Eck were the Mosel confluence with the Rhine on one side and on the opposite side the River Lahn joins the Rhine. We take some photos and are on our way to the Mosel biketrail.
We have reservations at a small inn called Kastorschaenke in Kobern Gohndorf right on the river. The rooms are ok and the price is right under 30.00 euros with breakfast. However the dining room reeks of cigarette smoke and we decide to look for dinner in town.We find a nice little Bistro with sort of italien food which turned out to be very delicioous.
