Muehlbach to Dobbiaco
After a delightful breakfast at the Weiss Lilie, we started ride our at 9:30, stopping in the littlest church I have ever seen where Johanna had lit a candle for Leif 2 years ago.. We rode along the beautiful Rienz River in the PusteriaValley. The Dolomites rising above us, the cornfields and pastures surrounding us.We stopped in Bruneco for bier and zwetschkenkuchen.
The trails are mostly paved but sometimes small gravel. We crossed the river many times on artistically hewn wooden bridges. We saw a group of rafters go by on the river and a paraglider soaring above.
Photos below are from Brenner Pass, Muelbach, Innsbruck and our ride to Dobbiaco

The countryside is littered with cornfields which are grown for fuel. The hillsides look like putting greens and the grass is mowed and rolled as hay. Flowers along the trail include a beautiful pink and scarlet monkey flower, yarrow and lots of golden rod.
It was an overcast day but the perfect temperature for riding, until the rain hit around 4:00. We put on more layers and rode on, trying to find our route which was not that easy. Somewhere, we ended up on the wrong side of the river but with the help of a young couple found our way to Dobbiaco.
The Grand Hotel which is now a hostel was full so we checked the Radweg book and soon had the hoteliers haggling over us. Chantal was elected to turn down the higher offer to her dismay as the owner was very handsome.
WE rode about 58 km today and yesterday. Today it took us about 8 hours with all the stops and the course was much hillier. Our legs are getting strong.
I hope Chantel got the handsome guy's name! haha. The photo along the Reinz is really beautiful. Enjoy the ride, Karen
