We spent the morning sightseeing in the "Zentrum" in Innsbruck, did some gift shopping and toured St. Jakob's Dom.
Then we rode to the bahnhof to catch the train to Brenner Pass in Italy, the lowest pass in the Bavarian Alps. We deboarded there and had a quick lunch before descending the Pass into the Wipptal Valley. The views were astonishing from the Pass as we made our way down.
Our destination was Muehlbah, a small village near the Rienz River in the Pusteria Valley. There was a deviacione so we attempted to follow the detour but it was not well signed. We asked directions and got led astray but chanced on a lone mountain biker who led us to the right turnoff. She was another "angel." The trail was arduous and steep in many places, a dirt path for several km. We finally arrived in Mulbah, a beautiful village in the Dolimites and found the "Weiss Lilie" where Johanna and Mac had stayed two years ago. They remembered Johanna and gave us the "friends discount."
We went to dinner at the only place left open in town which was the Pizzeria. The food was great and the entertainment turned out to be a fashion show for the Martina Boutique in Brixen. We enjoyed the show very much and got to see Miss Tyrol who was one of the models.
Today we are trying to make our way to Dobiaaco or to Cortina if we are able. We will post the photos later when the connection is better.
