After the tree raising we went inside the tent for krogge, a schwein goulash sort of food which is only made for the fest at this particular village. And the band played German drinking music.
The next day we went back to the fest and J wanted Plootz, which is kind of a cheesecake pizza with a bread dough. J had to wait in line for 30 mins(I sat and drank a beer) and when she got to the front there was only a half a one left. They bake the plootz in a wood fired oven in the village and then run it out to the fest venue. Then they go back and bake another batch. After J got hers there wasn't anymore for 30 plus minutes and a long line formed. The band was playing but not very well so after our meager Plootz we rode to Schloss Aschach for drink. I had a glass of wine and J and Bobi had hot tea with rum. So then to Bobi"s for the boletas.
As for the tree raising we ran into a similar thing on the Danube. There they would get the tree in a steady position then have some beer, then raise the tree some more, then more beer etc. Here they used a forklift to get things going and not nearly the same amount of beer was drank. Maybe German OSHA got involved. I hope the videos work out. You never know when I'm working the puter
