On Tuesday Sept.10 we left Bad Kissingen on the train to Villingen-Schwenningen the source of the Neckar River and the start of the bike trail. we spent the first night at the pension am Kloister ring and had a delicious dinner at the restaurant Pulvertuermle in town. Weather was overcast and sort of cold when we left next morning. It was snowing in the Alps. We made it to to the small village of Sulz and found lodging at Mr. and Mrs,Baumann"s private house. They were very sweet and we had 2 bedrooms bath and kitchen all to ourselves for only 44.00 euros including a very nice breakfast.

Leaving the Baumann's B&B in Sulz on the Neckar Mac took the photo
After we left Sulz we stopped at a beautiful Water Castle (Wasserschloss)and Schloss Café Mac and I each had their famous Black Forest Cake, Louise and Mike had some cake with red currents and meringue.
Shortly after leaving Glatt it started raining harder and harder all the way to our next lodging in Rottenburg at Hotel Prince Carl. Luckily I had my hairdryer and so we could dry all our cloth including Mikes Shoes.
We had Maultaschen a swabien specialty (sort of big Raviolis filled with different fillings) at Gasthaus Hirsch and Mike and Louise again had Heisse Liebe which means hot love (Vanilla ice cream with schlag and hot raspberries.) This morning we left there and stopped in Tuebingen a well known Univerity town and very charming. There was a franzoesischer and italienischer Market and we shopped for some bread and cheese for lunch. Soon we got back on the trail and made it as far as Nuertingen on nice trail along the river and checked into Hotel Pflum took a walking tour through town and had more Maultaschen for dinner.
On to Esslingen tomorrow to find some of the places Mike remembers from his childhood. No rain today!
