Montag Esslingen To Besigheim 15.Septemer 2013

On Monday morning after another super breakfast at Hotel am Schelztor in Esslingen we made our way to Radl-Eck Bikeshop in Esslingen were a new tire and tube was installed on Louise's bike and soon we were back on the bike trail. Weather overcast and a little rain on and off. Everyone pretty happy to be back on track, but only for a little while. Mike discovered a split on the rim of the back tire on his bike. So what should we do? Decided to go on and if disaster strikes we could always take a train. We made good time on the trail through the very big City of Stuttgart, no problem because the trail always followed the river and we were never in much traffic. We biked 65 km that day and followed the advice of a local Biker to stay in the little wine village of Besigheim. I called Gasthaus Hirsch to reserve rooms. The person told me that there was wine fest and it would be loud at night, but we did not care we were ready for wine and food. We made 65 km on the Mike's injured bike.
Our lodging turned out to be a charming little historical house in one of the best wine villages in Germany. Checked out our rooms and went out to join the wine fest. Soon after we walked out to check out the stands selling wine and foods it started to rain really hard. Tucked into the restaurant Hirsch and all had Maultaschen in all possibly varations and more wine. There was music and dancing, we have a video of Louse dancing. No one seemed to mind the rain. It was late when we finally went up to our room. Mike and Louise stayed on for more wine and dancing.
We all met in good shape for breakfast next morning.
