Tourist on the bike trail
After a sleepless night we left Rodnetal and rode out to Schloss Rosenau again to look at the Grotto.  It turned out to be a manmade waterfall without the water running.  We rode to the Schwanensee but there weren't any swans, only ducks.  We rode back thru town getting a better picture of Ehrenburg castle which was the residence of the Dukes of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.  We found the bike trail at the rosegarden and headed to Sesslach.  It wasn't the right trail but we followed it until we found the right one.  We got to Sesslach in time for a beer.  It was started in 800.  The town was destroyed during the 30 year war in 1640.  The 30 year war was a peasent uprising where the peasents got tired of the rich and went and burned down their castles.  Today Sesslach is well preserved little town with numerous fachwerk houses and intact walls and watchtowers.
Back on the bike trail in warm weather we rode on for several hours until time to find a room.  We first tried in Mursbach but one place was having another wedding and was full and  the other only had primitive single rooms.  We rode on to the next village of Medlitz where we found a room but shower and toilet down the hall.  But the food was good and room was cheap and clean.
