Gasthaus Ebner, our place for the night
We thought we would take a trail that runs from Deggenberg Klinic to the town of Hausen.  I thought it more or less contoured along the ridge.  But no.  It was steep up and down on dirt and about 3k longer then if we had gone thru BK.  Thus we started out a little tired.
The trip along the Saale to Bad Konigshofen is beautiful.  A lot of the trail is along the river and away from traffic.  The whole Saale trail from Gemunden to Bad Konigshofen is probably the best section we have done so far even though it isn't heavily promoted.  We stopped in Bad Neustadt for eis as usual.  Overall the trip is about 60+ks.  We got into town and the first place we tried was full and we ended at Hotel Ebner.  It was a nice place, with a beergarden, petting zoo, and an indoor pool.   It was nice and quiet for a change.  We decided to have dinner right there and right away and ordered more beer and fraenckischen fladen . you can only get it here in Franken..It is sort of like a pizza, but very thin dough with a sort of sourcreme on top and chives and little pieces of crisp bacon. very good, Mac had red Frankenwein with it. Afterwards went to check out the town and had gelato at the italien gelateria.  Hoping for a good nights sleep and on to the biketrail to Coburg tomorrow.
By the  way the weather has been great.
