On Sunday Johanna and I went to a concert at the Wandehalle.  There are concerts twice a day on the weekdays and Sat.  If you are at a hotel or rehab hospital you are giving a Kurkarte and get in free.  Otherwise you pay 3 euros.  Todays concert was some Strauss.  After that the band was going to  the theatre at the Regentenbau for another concert.  We went to that one also but it turned out to be more of an awards ceremony then a concert although the band did play 4 numbers.  There were a lot of speeches.
Today is Tag des offenen denkmal.  Once a year they open up places for public viewing that are not usually open to the public like the royal waiting room at the railroad station, The victoria Hotel, the Regentenbau.  We went into the Victoria Hotel and looked around.  It's at least a block long.  It was bought by a rich Russian, renovated and is now a running hotel.   The dining room shown was one 3  set up for Brunch which was going to happen soon.  White table cloths are the norm in Germany but this also had the crystal and nice place settings.
After the Regentenbau concert we went into the inner courtyard but were shooed out for looking like tourists.  They were having a reception for the dignitaries and we didn't fit although Johanna is related to the second Burgermeister.  I think if we would have found him we could have stayed but we weren't dressed for receptions.  The Kurgarten and the rosengarten are beautiful.  There's maybe several thousand people wondering around the gardens and many more in the inner town square have food and drink.  All the sidewalk cafes are full.   It is a different culture.
