August 17 2014 Oberdrauburg to Spittal

We woke up to an absolutely blue sky this morning and after another wonderful breakfast left our beautiful Hotel Post in Oberdrauburg. We are are now leaving the Lienzer Dolomiten. At Nikolsdorf we are leaving Ost Tirol and entering Kaernten (Carinthia) through the Kaerntner Tor. Now we are in the Carnic Alps, I decided to visit the famous little frescoe Church of Gerlamoos It was up a steep hill
it was to steep for the guys, mac came up half ways with me. Had to get the key from house nr. 10 and hiked up through the woods, where I met Heinz who was on his way down and disappointed because he did not know about the key. So he was very happy to hike back up with me.The little church and frescoes from the 1500 century were beautiful and it was a perfect place to say a prayer for Leif. He and Lacy have been on my mind all through this trip.
I met Mac back down in the village, picked up Mike and continued on through beautiful country to Spittal with a beer and strudel break in Lind.
We arrived in Spittal around 5.00 p.m. sort of confused how to get to town from the bike trail, but  a very nice man on a motor scooter stopped, gave us directions and even called the Gasthaus Brueckenwirt for rooms for us. Turned out to be a great place right on the river  with friendly people and good food.
