Aug 20  Caught the train from Klagenfurt to Berchtesgardn.  When we got to Salzburg we missed the connecting train to Freilassing.  Luckily we got another 20 mins later  and made our other connection.  The town was packed and we had a hard time getting a room but ended up at the Vier Jahreszeiten.   A little expensive but nice.

On the 21st J and I rode the bikes to Koenigsee.  Mike decided to go see the Eagles Nest, Hitlers retreat.  Maybe he will write a blog section about it later.  We caught the boat to the upper end of the  lake.  From there we hiked to the Oberersee, a small lake half a kilometer up the valley.  For pics of Koenigsee see the blog from 2013 in late June when we were here with Cheryl and Courtney.   I stopped at the lower end of Oberersee and J walked on to the alm at the head of the lake where fresh milk can be had.  On the way back we got off the boat at St. Bartolome, a chapel on the lake.  When we got back to our starting point we went into a restaurant and had a germ knoedl, which we hadn't yet seen on our trip.

Tomorrow we leave for Wurzburz and a couple of days biking on the Main bike trail before getting Mike back to Bad Kissingen to pack for his trip home.
