Aug 19 2014 Rosegg to Klagenfurt.   We left Rosegg to nice weather.  We stopped by the local zoo.  The deer were feeding.  They are about the size of J's dog Natasha.  After 10k we went off the trail to Maria Elend, a pilgrimage church.  They have one of the finest carved altars in the area.  Back on the trail J was lecturing us on the mountain range to the south and the local history.  She thinks we don't care.  The trail went thru small forest and along a lake which was from damming the Drau.  When we got to the dam we made a choice to take an alternative route(I had said "no more alternative routes" because they never work out or they are too hilly and not much of interest) to Klagenfurt, a supposedly nice town.  We crossed the dam and then had to go over a 600 ft high ridge in about 1 kilometer.  She later said she knew the trail was a  "mountain bike trail" laughingly.  There was a restaurant at the top but was closed because it was raining and no business.  So we rode on to Klagenfurt and to Info where we got a lead on a room.  The old town was nice.  After showering we went to Augustine's for dinner.  It's a local place with good Austrian food and it was packed.

Since this the end of most things interesting on the Drau and we have some time left we are heading to Salzburg in the morning and on to Koenigsee.  J wants to take the boat to the upper end of the lake and then walk to another lake upstream.  Then to Wurzburg to ride from there to Schweinfurt, then catch a train back to Bad Kissingen.

All the pics are in disorder because we were blogging in the Train station in Klagenfurt.  The internet was weak where there was seating so I would set up the pic and she would go over to a different place in the station to get a stronger signal.  I guess they don't want people sitting there to long using the net.
