August 27th, 28th and 29th 2014
We are staying at our house, doing laundry, bike maintenance and I am spending time with my sister.
Mac comes down in the afternoon for dinner. Today we had a very sunny day and we rode up to the castle Aschach for a lovely dinner.
This weekend There is a big fest in a village nearby and we plan to go.
On Monday we will go on a short 4 day bike tour close by. Friday Felix and Nadine are coming up from Munich and for Sunday we have tickets for a Concert in town.Mozart and Bruckner Mass with the Bavarian Rundfunk Orchestra, I talked Mac into going we are taking my sister also. She is so looking forward to it.
Then soon the Mount Shasta Ladies will be here and we will ride the trail To Metz.

August 26th 2014 Bad kissingen.
Mike took the Bus up to the Clinic which is our base. This would be his last day and we hope he had a good time on the trail with us.I am sorry about the Mountain bike trail to Klagenfurt.
We took him on a tour through the Reha Clinic and then took a walk over to the old castle ruins from the 1200 century.
We met up later on in the afternoon for Dinner at the Italien reataurant.
I hope the taxi I ordered for 5.00 a.m. really came to take him to the station and that he had a good flight home

August 25th 2014 Ochsenfurt to Volkach on the Main River Biketrail
We left Ochsenfurt and the weather looked promising and turned into a nice day.
We rode along the river on good trail and had planned to stop at the village of Marktbreit for some sightseeing. That's were we lost Mike. He had stopped to take a photo of some Cement plant close to the trail. As we got to the village there was a huge Flee Market right on the trail, which partly obscured the trail sign.
Instead of making a right turn Mike went straight through the masses of people.We had made the right turn to the entrance of the village stopping there to wait for him, thinking he would show up any minute.But after a few Minutes no Mike. Mac rode back to the photo stop where we last saw him back and forth through the crowd of people on to the next village and back while I waited. I had a feeling that mike was ahead of us all that time anyway. So we finally rode on but after about 15 km Mac started to worry again and rode all the way back to the market. I waited at the bike trail for almost 2 hours for him to return.
Of course he returned without having found Mike. So we took a beer break and then went on to our next goal, the village of Volkach 20km away. There we checked into our Hotel Beringer, where they remembered us from the year before. We kept wondering where Mike could have ended up, but I knew he would be ok. Soon the phone rang my sister: "are you perhaps missing something" she asked.
run into my sister and husband Heini by chance. He could explain to Heini the situation, so they called us and the mystery was resolved.
Mac and I had Dinner took a walk through the village looking for gelato, but none could be found.
We left in the morning, nice weather and rode all the way home to Bad Kissingen were we met up with Mike at the wine fest in town. After some wine drinking went up to the village of Hausen 5 km away so Mike could have Holzhacker
Schnitzel. On the way back it started raining of course and we left Mike in town and rode up the steep hill to the house.

August 24th 2014 Wuerzburg to Ochsenfurt.
After the morning spent with sight seeing in Wuerzburg we got on the Main River bike trail to Ochsenfurt'
I did make a reservation there at Hotel Baeren.
The trail follows the river and we stopped at several villages to take photos and stopped in Sommerhausen for some Franken wine and a Brotzeit of bread, cheese and Brezen. It was nice enough to sit outside.
We arrived at our hotel Baeren in Ochsenfurt late afternoon checked the internet and took a walk through town.
It was sort of cold and there was nothing going on in town. usually when the weather is nice the out door cafes are packed, not so on this cold evening. Went to a little Gasthaus and had Dinner and turned in.

Sat Aug 23 Wuerzburg to Ochsenfurf
We left Berchtesgaden and caught the Regio to Wuerzburg. It was a sunny morning and the mountains were spectacular. We had to make three changes but it all went smooth. Only one staircase to change platforms .However it took all day to get Wuerzburg, because the regio stops at lots of stations. We arrived at 6.00 p.m. and quickly rode and found our hotel Stadt Mainz in the old part of to town. Now I am back in my region again were I know my way around and speak the language (dialect). We went to our favorite restaurant Buergerspital, avery old place. They serve traditional franconien food. Mac and Mike had Schaeufele (crisp roasted pork shoulder with dumplings and cabbage salat and I had a salad with lots of roasted chanterelles.We are in the wine region of Frankonia we had different wines with dinner
