St. Gilgen 12. September 2015

We decided to stay another night in our pension here in St. Gilgen. On weekends it is sometimes hard to find lodging .
We wanted to visit  St. Wolfgang across the lake. I remember an Operetta by Benatzky called
"Im weissen Roessl am Wolfgangsee" so wanted to see the Inn Weisses Roessl. We sat in the Garden Cafe by the lake and had Salzburger Nockerl, a very light desert but very filling. The waiter said one would be enough for two people but it was enough for four.  Don't think we need dinner tonight.
We walked around town a bit, lots of tourist of course, met a nice older couple the wife English Husband Austrian and visited with them for a while. They have a house in Montafon which is at Vorarlberg and the Ski area Silvretta Montafon is famous.
We went to see the Pilgrimage Church St.Wolfgang from 1430 with its world famous Altar 10 meters high and 7.00 meters wide. All in gold by Michael Pacher 1471. The church is decorated with frescos through out.
Rode the Ferry back to the other side and biked back to St. Gilgen.
Margy and Wayne took off this morning and we will see them again tomorrow sometime in Obertraun where we booked a room.
