Oregon cost bike route
Thursday September 9th 2021
After breakfast we said good bye to Randy and Barbara and started the first leg of the trip from Astoria to Manzanita.
We rode the first 15 miles were able to take the Lewis and Clark road, a secondary road with hardly any traffic,
.when we reached the town of Seaside and rode along the promenade by the beach, but eventually we had to get on 101 with lots of traffic buzzing by. It was ok, there was a wide shoulder in most
places. We reached Cannon Beach and had lunch. we continued riding on 101 and soon had to ride throgh a tunnel.Mac pushed the butten at the entrance and the light started flashing to let motorist know bikers were riding in the tunnel. We made it ok. Then came two long hills thank
god for the pedal assisted bikes. After the second hill it was all down to Manzanita. good thing
because we only had 20% left on the batteries. We found our lodgeing Sun Surf Hotel very nice.
it was foggy and cold. A hot shower was great.
Tomorrow an easy day ti Tillamook.

I am so glad you have those bright green jackets!
ReplyDeleteThat battery thing sounds pretty scary. You must have used a lot climbing!
