On Sunday June 30th we left Bad Kissingen on the train. we had to change trains 3 times and all went smooth until munich when we had to take all 4 bikes and all panniers back out of the waggon we were in to change to the front carriage of the train. the back carriges were going to be taken off at Kempten to go to a different place. we managed u to get everything done in time and then shared a compartment with an interesting young scientist from Israel. There is a big conference of scientists smostly young from all over the world in Lindau.there is a big conference going on in lindau for the next 4 days.
we checked into our gasthaus inselgraben, unloaded the bikes and went out to see the town and had dinner. then back to get ready for the start of our Bodensee-koenigsee biketour.
We left Lindau by 9.00 am and rode through the beautiful Allgaeu and arrived in Buehl at the Alpsee after 75 miles of up and down. found Zimmer in two private houses very basic, but very economical and nice hosts. Left Buehl this morning and made it to Fuessen around 4,00 pm and about 55km of some steep hills. found another lodging for 66,00 euros for two with breakfast at a nice ladies guesthouse.all with private shower and wc. went to the old town of fuessen sightseeing and for dinner. after rode down to Forrgensee, just outside of town, everyone was tired and turned in.
I am writing this while a big thunderstorm is happening and now it started raining real hard.
Tomorrow is Courtney's birthday and we want to make a detour to garmisch and maybe Zugspitze for Cheryl and Courtney, but wont be good if it is raining. The last 3 days we had beautiful warm weather and a Weiss blau bavarien himmel, just like the bav.flag.
